Our client is an Award-Winning Production business with nearly 100 years pedigree. They are innovators within their market sector and their products are known and enjoyed throughout Ireland.
Their high volume, automated production facilities allows them to provide reliable and cost-effective product lines to Irish and UK multiples from their base in Donegal.  They currently have an opening for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team whose key function will be ensuring a full H&S System & structure is in operation and in place.

Role profile:
The role of Health & Safety Officer is an important aspect to the overall function of the business. Working independently, the Health & Safety Officer will have responsibility for all areas of this function within a busy Manufacturing environment. 

Role and Responsibilities include:
Ensuring the site is compliant with statutory Health & Safety requirements.
Preparing a Company Safety Statement and ensuring it is adhered to at all times.
Preparing a risk assessment for each individual task across the site and also completing all the standard risk assessments within a manufacturing function.
Compiling detailed method statements for high risk activities.
Compiling safety files and records.
Investigation of all accidents. Suggest and introduce control measures to ensure a recurrence doesn’t happen.
Reporting accident notifications to Health & Safety Authority.
Toolbox talks relevant to the manufacturing environment.
Annual employee safety training review.
Coordination and management of safety training.
Control of first aid stocks.
PPE control and issue.
Control of relevant mechanical inspections, e.g. forklift trucks, harnesses, trolleys, etc.
Ensuring all contractors on site adhere to Safety Statement and deal with any compliance issues.
Work closely with Production & Logistics to ensure a safe and fully operational site at all times.
Any other ad hoc duties as required.

A suitable candidate will have a relevant third level qualification in Occupation Health & Safety coupled with substantial experience at H&S Officer level (ideally 3-5 years) from within a similar food manufacturing industry ideally.
You will be an excellent communicator and a self-starter, who can identify when to escalate issues or get involvement from Senior Managers.
